<p>PURPOSE: To sense the flow rate of a fluid flowing in a pipe by furnishing a material layer, temp. sensor, and additional temp. sensor as major components, and utilizing the temp. difference varying as a function of the rate of fluid flow. CONSTITUTION: A pipe 12 is fixed to a thermo-conductive layer 32 where the mechanical and thermo-conductive relationships are maintained, wherein the pipe 12 holds for a thermo-conductive relation with a block 22. Temp. sensors 25, 28 sense the temp. of the position of the pipe 12, and the temp. signal is sent to a processing means 60 through an appropriate lead. The sensors 25, 28 measure the temp. difference in these positions, and the rate of flow of the fluid through the pipe 2 is determined by deciding how a temp. changing means of the block 22 influences the fluid in the pipe 12. Other temp. sensors 34, 36 sense the gradient of the temp. profile along the pipe 12 when the fluid flows through the pipe 12, and adjustment is made to offer an accurate indication of the rate of flow about the temp. difference given by the sensors 25, 28. The signals given by the sensors 34, 36 are fed to a processing means 60.</p> |
