PURPOSE:To obviate blurring of color tones and to make sharp display with a high contrast by providing light shielding layers which do not allow the passage of light to the boundary parts between plural color filters. CONSTITUTION:A water soluble org. resin layer is formed on a transparent glass substrate 20 and red, blue and green dyes are printed thereon to form the patterns of prescribed arrangement by which the resin layer is dyed and the respective color filters of red parts 22, blue parts 23 and green parts 24 are formed in correspondence to liquid crystal shutters. The boundaries of the filters are simultaneously dyed by the black color system to form black frames 21. A transparent protective film 25 and a conductive transparent film 26 are provided thereon to obtain the lower electrodes. The interference of the color tones between the color filters with each other is, therefore, obviated and the blurring of the colors between the filters is eliminated. The sharp display of the high contrast is thus executed. |
