<p>PURPOSE:To exert the separating force according to the kinds of paper sheets by forming the retard members of a paper sheet separating device arranged against a paper feeding roller with multiple members made of different materials in a paper feeding device arranged to face a sheet feed tray or the like. CONSTITUTION:A paper sheet separating device 5 is arranged downstream of a pick-up roller 3 in a paper feeding device 1 arranged at the sheet feed section of a paper feeding tray 2, and a retard unit 10 arranged against a paper feeding roller 6 positions one of retard pads 11... provided on a rotor 12. The retard pads 11 supported by the rotor 12 are made of materials having different friction coefficients so that the pressing force to the paper feeding roller 6 can be changed. A drive shaft 14 is driven by a drive motor 19 according to the quality of sheets, and a disk member 15 is fixed and held by a stopper member 17 via a hooking means.</p> |
