PURPOSE:To estimate the positions and the vector distribution of dipoles precise ly and in a short time, by a method wherein the mean-square error, between the potential distribution on the surface of an organism calculated by dividing the inside of the organism into a plurality of regions with different conductivities and the measured potential distribution, is found, and then the positions and vector components of the dipoles are corrected so as to minimize the mean- square error. CONSTITUTION:The inside of an organism is divided into a plurality of regions sigma1, sigma2, sigma3 with different conductivities sigma1, sigma2, sigma3 respectively, the surface potential distribution of respective regions OMEGA1, OMEGA2 OMEGA3 inside the organism is calculated by the boundary element method using a direct access on the basis of the positions and vector components of a plurality of dipoles preset inside the organism, and on the basis of the calculated values, the electrical potentials on the surface of organism are repeatedly corrected, so as to minimize the mean-square error between the measured electrical potential on the surface of the organism and the calculated electrical potential, and the true positions and vector components of the dipoles are estimated. |
