PURPOSE: To realize an air pump capable of eliminating a necessity that a user monitors a pressure gage during air pumping-up operation by the pump and calling user's attention to an excess of nominal pressure value. CONSTITUTION: This air pump is provided with a compressor part generating compressed air, a passage for discharge 11 which discharges compressed air through it and is communicated with a space in the compressor, and a monitoring device monitoring a nominal pressure value determined in advance of air pressure. Excess pressure valves 21 to 24 as the monitoring device which is communicated with the space in the compressor through communicating passages 17, 18, opens them automatically when excess of the nominal pressure value determined in advance occurs, and generates a sound signal by the compressed air gushing out through a pore 37 are provided. A user can set the nominal pressure value by rotating a member 29 which is provided in the air pump and has a degree like scale provided on a visible side. |
