THIN-FILM MAGNETIC HEAD AND ITS PRODUCTION

PURPOSE: To manufacture the thin film magnetic head which has a conversion element and at least one magnetic flux guide element and whose reliability and efficiency are high with the small number of manufacturing processes. CONSTITUTION: The manufacturing method of the thin film magnetic flux having the conversion element 23 and at least one magnetic flux guide elements 17 and 17b is provided. The conductive layer 8 of a nonmagnetic material and the second electric insulating layer 9 of the non-magnetic material are sequentially formed on the first electric insulating layer 5 of the non-magnetic material. A discontinuous part to which a part of the conductive layer 8 is exposed is provided for the second insulating layer 9. The magnetic flux guide element is formed by electro-depositing a soft magnetic material until the discontinuous part is filled in the part of the exposed conductive layer. The magnetic flux guide element and the second electric insulating layer make an almost flat face and an electric insulating space layer 21 is formed on the face. Then, the conversion element 23 is provided on the spacer layer.
