PURPOSE: To provide a gasket without requiring an accurate tolerance between the gasket and a recessed part mechanically worked so as to house the gasket. CONSTITUTION: An exhaust pipe flange.gasket 11 having a metal main body provided with a flat part 18 extended inward in the horizontal direction from the outer edge and having a least one bolt hole and provided with a shield grommet 26 integrally connected with the inner edge of the flat part 18 is provided. The shield grommet 26 forms an outer peripheral side 28 of he hole, and a sealing member is held in the grommet 26. The gasket 11 is arranged between two combined exhaust pipes 70, 72 respectively provided with flanges 66, 68 having holes 90, 92 and flat fastening surfaces 70, 72. At least one of the flanges 66, 68 is provided with counter bore recessed parts 74, 76 adjacent to the fastening surfaces 70, 72. The flat part of the gasket 11 is arranged between the fastening surfaces so that the shield grommet can be housed in the recessed part at the time of matching each member hole 90, 92 to bolt holes.
