PURPOSE:To speedily and accurately extract the required picture edge from among multilevel picture data by detecting the picture data in the section data range and performing the differential processing on the data. CONSTITUTION:The picture data taken through a camera 1 and a picture memory 2 are taken in a calculation part 4 and a comparator 5. The comparator 5 compares it with the section data of a setting part 3. It gives a calculation command to the part 4 only when the picture data between the upper and lower limit values of the section data is detected. The differential processing detecting the density grade of the picture data is performed in the part 4. Thus, the section data range where few noise component is detected is set and the pre-processing to be performed before the differential processing is not required by detecting the data in the range and no noise component is detected. |
