In order to change the direction of radiation of a laser, a virtual diffraction grid is formed with a first mirror and a second plane-parallel mirror spaced apart from the first mirror and having a reflection factor lower than 100 %. An arrangement focuses the radiation of the laser into a focal point between both mirrors. By changing the spacing between the mirrors, the lattice constant of the virtual diffraction grid and thus the direction of radiation of the laser emitted by the virtual diffraction grid are changed.
