A solid state sensor, for measuring gases, has a gas-sensitive layer with parameters varying in a characteristic manner with temp. in the presence of certain gases or gas mixts. thus providing a characteristic parameter-temp. curve for the adjacent gas mixt., the temp. of the layer being set and varied by heating with an associated radiant source.
