PURPOSE: To prevent wrapping of a web around rollers and other troubles by averting jamming of combing web waves on a guide plate as far as possible. CONSTITUTION: The web guide plate 9 is disposed between detaching roller pairs 3 and 4 and delivery roller pairs 5 and 6 of a combing head of a combing machine and the upper side on a first segment 9.1 proximate to the detaching roller pairs of this guide plate 9 is upwardly inclined to an angleαof 30 to 60 deg., more preferably about 45 deg., with respect to the delivery direction F of the web V by the detaching roller pairs 3 and 4 and a deflection plate 10 is arranged above the same. The second segment 9.2 of the guide plate 9 is diagonally arranged at a gentle angle not exceeding±15 deg. in the web delivery direction F. Further, at least the lower side of the deflection plate 10 and the upper side of the first segment 9.1 are made conductive and are electrically connected to a frame 7 of the combing machine, by which the electrification of the combing web V on the guide plate 9 during the combing operation is suppressed.
