A surgical or orthopaedic table for thoracic surgery, spinal correction or application of plaster casts comprises a main frame 14 supported on a base 10 by a vertically adjustable column 12, a lateral bar 34 horizontally pivotal on the main frame and supporting knee rests 57, 58 and a pelvis-supporting yoke 80, a vertically adjustable table 102 carrying a chest-supporting yoke 98, arm supports 106, 107 and a vertically adjustable head rest p 108, pivotal arms 19 on each side of the main frame for supporting traction apparatus and a V-shaped member 15 for supporting surgical accessories e.g. a seat or table 16. The positions of the knee rests and the pelvis-supporting yoke may be adjusted along the lateral bar 34. The knee rests are carried by pivotal vertical bars 59 which permit them to be independently adjusted angularly about the pivots 60 and vertically. The yokes 80, 98, each comprising V-shaped members 81, 99 and patient-supporting members 86, 100, are adjustable vertically and are rotatable about a vertical axis and may be tilted with the main frame for facilitating transfer of the patient to a stretcher. The parts are locked in their adjusted positions. |
