The assembly component, esp. for the two branches (7,8) of a tool consists of a tubular rivet (2) with a head (5) and a cylindrical element (6) with an inner bore which is slightly shorter than the overall thickness of the two branches. There is a solid rivet with a head (3) and a cylindrical shank (4) with a diameter slightly greater than the bore in the tubular rivet, into which it is forced. The gap between the heads (3,5) of the two rivets is variable as a function of the thickness of the tool branches, and the tip of the solid rivet is expanded to fix it securely in place. The solid rivet (1) is made from a medium-soft untreated steel, while the hollow rivet is made from a special tempered steel.
