PURPOSE:To provide the electronic image pickup device which can easily execute the transmission and reception of image data and/or data stored in a recording medium only by using a miniaturized MODEM or the like with the single body of the electronic image pickup device. CONSTITUTION:This device is provided with data communicating means (CPU 12 and EEPROM 16) for transmitting the image data picked up by an image pickup circuit 2 provided at the dveice itself and/or the data stored in a mounted memory card 17 corresponding to a system based on an inter-personal computer communication system suitable for making into a network, and the electronic image pickup device can transmit these image data or the like through an RS-232C I/F 15.
