<p>PURPOSE:To smoothly perform a black color processing of character/line drawing, etc., and prevent deterioration in image quality by deciding the thickness of a character/a line drawing part in an image and correcting the thickness so that the thickness of a character or a line is changed continuously when the image processing is made through the combination of contour information and saturation information of the character/line drawing part for the image processing. CONSTITUTION:Reflected light from an original is led to a mirror and an image is formed on a 3-line sensor (CCD) by a lens. The CCD decomposes the color of optical information from the original and reads an RGB component of full color information and sends the read information to a signal processing section. Then the signal processing section decides the thickness of a character/a line drawing part in the image by a character thickness decision section in a black character decision section 113, an edge detection section 115 obtains contour information of a character/a line drawing part and a saturation decision section 116 obtains saturation information and a thickness decision signal is corrected so that the thickness of the character and the line is continuously changed when contour information and the saturation information are combined for image processing.</p> |
