Process and assembly buffer sharply varying effluent gases in catalytic incinerator

In a process to incinerate raw gases in the presence of a catalyst, raw gas is heated in a heat exchanger (1) by clean gas before mixing with a flow portion of the gas (b) heated in a catalytic convertor. The novelty is that the catalytically heated flow portion of raw gas is mixed with that portion of raw gas which has been heated in the heat exchanger. The catalytically heated portion of the raw gas then flows through a heat storage unit together with the main flow of raw gas. The partial flow is separated from the main flow after the heat storage unit and then flows through a first catalytic convertor, while the main flow is led through a second catalytic convertor for heat exchange with the raw gas. Appts. for carrying out the process is also claimed.
