Linear bearing with adjustment

The linear bearing has two parallel round rods (2) gripped by two pairs of rollers in each bearing support. Each roller pair is fitted with axial springs (5) to press the rollers onto the guide rails with the spacing of the rollers axes equal to the roller diameter to ensure no tipping action. The slider is assembled from flat plates into a U-shaped supported with the roller axles fitted to a top plate which moves with the spring movement. The top plate is also attached to the inner body of the slider which is slit (F), with the slit width adjustable using a screw adjuster (9). This provides simple compensation for wear of the roller tyres, which can be plastic. Other parts of the system can be plastic, including the bearings, for use in liquid.
