Three=probe endometrium applicator for carcinoma=irradiation

The applicator is for carcinoma of the corporis uteri in after-loading contact therapy, esp. using indexing Iridium-192 radioactive sources. Three rigid hollow probes (1,2) are mounted in a two-part holder (6.1,6.2). The probes are also mounted in a stopper in three or more parts (7.1-7.3). First and second lateral probes (1,2) are bent at the forward end for a length of between 1 and 10 cm and through an angle (11) of 5 to 45 deg. in relation to the middle part. A central probe is straight and open at both ends, its forward end extending to the forward bend in the first lateral probe, its forward end being chamfered at the same angle to its axis equal to the angle (11). This probe is rigidly joined to the first part (6.1) of the holder. The second lateral probe (2) also slides in its lengthwise direction.
