A transconductance circuit employs a single differential transconductance stage and feeds back both transconductance amplifier outputs to their corresponding inputs. The result is a bi-directional floating resistor whose terminals are taken from the two input connections of the transconductance amplifier. A modification of the transconductance circuit, in which one amplifier output is returned to a ground reference instead of to its corresponding amplifier input, the input of the circuit being then formed specifically by that amplifier input, results in a circuit equivalent to a high-input- impedance buffer followed by the floating resistor of the unmodified circuit. The modified circuit is especially useful as a front-end stage for a gyrator filter circuit.

|
