PURPOSE:To obtain a composition excellent in wear resistance s, frictional properties, oxidative stability, etc., by incorporating a specific basic metal dithiocarbamate and an oil-soluble amine compound into a lubricating oil base. CONSTITUTION:A basic metal dithiocarbamate (A) having a lipophilic group in which the average number of carbon atoms is 2-8 and having a base component content of 30-100mol%, e.g. zinc dithiocarbamate, is incorporated in an amount of 1.5-7wt.% into a lubricating oil base together with 1.5-25wt.% oil- soluble amine compound (B), e.g. a polyalkenylsuccinimide. The ingredients (A) and (B) may be separately added to the base oil and reacted with each other in the oil to form a complex. Alternatively, the ingredients (A) and (B) are reacted with each other beforehand to form a complex, which is incorporated into the base oil to thereby easily form a homogeneous composition. Examples of the lubricating base oil include various mineral oils and synthetic lubricating oils. |
