PURPOSE:To obtain an injection molded piece enhanced in sharpness of coating and superior in adhesion in coating or plating by a method wherein a molded piece is injection molded using a mold in which a mold wall surface forming a mold cavity is coated with a predetermined-thickness heat insulating layer made of a heat-resistant polymer having a specific heat conductivity, thereafter being coated or plated. CONSTITUTION:A mold wall surface forming a mold cavity of a main mold made of a metal, such as a steel, an aluminum, or an alloy mainly composed of aluminum, is coated with a heat-insulating layer made of a heat-resistant polymer having a heat conductivity not more than 0.002cal/cm.sec. deg.C. As the heat insulating layer, a heat-resistant polymer having an aromatic ring in a main chain is preferable, and an amorphous thermopolymerized substance of every kind, a polyimide of every kind, and the like can be used. It is preferable that the thickness of the coating is 0.01-2mm. The molded piece formed by injection molding using the aforesaid mold is coated or plated. |
