The invention relates to an arrangement to shatter glass. The present invention is designed, in the first instance, to be used in saving persons and animals from perilous (distressing) situations, for example from vehicles damaged in an accident. Thus the present invention provides an arrangement for shattering glass essentially along a shattering line, said arrangement comprising a frame within which a shattering element is secured and which comprises a first section and a second section which are joined together by a linking frame section which is designed to extend through the shattering line produced by the arrangement.
