PURPOSE: To provide an instrument for biopsy comparatively easy to use for collecting a sample of tissue for biopsy, which enables a doctor to use a comparatively large not contaminated clearly cut sample by a hand, and a method to collect a sample. CONSTITUTION: This instrument for biopsy is equipped with a syringe, a hollow needle 16 with a side opening part 28 attached to the syringe, a locking barrel mounted on the base end of the needle 16, and a hollow cannula mounted coaxially on the outside of the needle 16 and the locking barrel to block the opening part 28 by selectively moving against the needle 16. The cannula can be locked at a prescribed position on the needle 16, and a spring 58 is loaded on a plunger 28 of the syringe to draw a sample into a syringe barrel 20 when a latch 24 is released. |
