COMPOSTING OF SILICEOUS ORGANIC MATERIAL

PURPOSE:To obtain a composting process for siliceous organic material effective for promoting the solubilization of siliceous material by using a treated product of a putrefactive waste. CONSTITUTION:Composting of a siliceous organic material is carried out by adding an additive composed mainly of a highly active calcium oxide to a putrefactive waste consisting of a mixture of a solid and a liquid to obtain a reaction product by vigorous hydration reaction, mixing a siliceous organic material to the reaction product and supplying proper amounts of water and air to the mixture to effect the solubilization of the siliceous components of the siliceous organic material.
