PURPOSE:To provide an electronic time piece rich in variety wherein pointers can be confirmed even in a black background and thereby contrast between the pointers and the background and colors can be changed. CONSTITUTION:A liquid crystal cell 17 is provided upward of a pointer 16 for indicating a time, an upper polarization plate 20 is set on the lower face of a timekeeper glass positioned upward of the liquid crystal cell 17, a lower polarization plate 21 is provided on the upper face of a dial 14 positioned downward of the pointer 16 and a timekeeper glass 4 is mounted on a rotation bezel 3 rotatably mounted on the upper outer circumference of a watch case 1. Accordingly, since the liquid crystal 17 and the pointer 16 are sandwiched between the upper and the lower polarization plates 20, 21, the poniter 16 can be clearly seen through the liquid crystal cell 17, even if the upper polarization plate 20 is rotated, a background is brightened and information is indicated blackly, and in addition, even if the upper polarization plate 20 can be rotated up to a specified angle and the background is blackened, the pointer 16 can be fully confirmed through the liquid crystal cell 17. |
