OUTPUT CONTROLLER FOR VEHICLE ALTERNATOR

PURPOSE:To compose the wiring between an external control unit and a voltage regulator of a single line by a method wherein the duty ratio of a control signal is decided and the regulating voltage of an alternator is set by the voltage regulator in accordance with the decided result. CONSTITUTION:An output controller detects the terminal voltage of a battery 5 which is charged by the rectified output of an alternator 1 having a field coil. A voltage regulator 3A which performs the intermittent control of a field current applied to the field coil in accordance with the detected voltage in order to regulate the output voltage of the alternator 1 to be a required value and an external control unit 4 which outputs a control signal corresponding to the operation state of a vehicle are provided and the regulating voltage of the alternator is set by the voltage regulator 3A in accordance with the control signal. As a result, the regulating voltage of the alternator 1 can be set in accordance with the control signal which corresponds to the operation state of the vehicle and is outputted from the external control unit 4. Therefore, various regulating voltage informations can be inputted from the external control unit 4 to the voltage regulator 3A with a single signal line.
