PURPOSE:To provide a pattern matching device which is capable of exactly aligning the longitudinal and lateral striped patterns such as the location of checkered cloth. CONSTITUTION:By adding image data having the same Y or X offset of a first sheet of photographed cloth for every dot, the projections in longitudinal (X) and vertical (Y) directions are taken. As for the first sheet of cloth, at least obtained rotation correction amount is used, the rotation location is corrected with a placing table and the location is moved to a holding/fixing means. As for a sheet after the second sheet, the projections in the longitudinal (X) and vertical (Y) directions are taken in the same way, deviation DELTAX and DELTAY in the X and Y directions with these first sheets is determined. After the deviation in the X and Y directions with the first sheet is corrected by the parallel moving and the rotation location of the placing table based on the rotation correction amount obtained for each deviation, the moving to the holding/fixing means is performed. |
