<p>PURPOSE: To provide a method and a mechanism for controlling a digital servo for differentially controlling the movement of a head through the change of an operation mode. CONSTITUTION: The head 407 executes a horizontal movement on a medium 409 and executes R/W. VCM 411 drives the head and a motor 413 rotates the medium. Then, a driver 415 drives/controls VCM 411. AD/A converter 417 receives input U from a processor 401, outputs it to the driver 415 and a driver 419 is controlled by the processor 401. AMP42 amplifies and outputs the signal and outputs it to the head 407. An interface controller 429 communicates with an external part through the processor. The processor 401 controls a unit, 423 and write data from an interface 429 is encoded and read data fro AMP is decoded. An A/D converter 425 converts a servo read signal into PES and a gate array 427 outputs respective pieces of servo information from ERD. The processor 401 executes the operation of a digital servo control mechanism.</p> |
