PURPOSE:To enable a batch edition processing of plural discontinuous character strings by reading character strings in plural areas to be managed by an address management table from a document buffer and storing them and editing the character strings. CONSTITUTION:For example, in a Japanese word processor, the contents of the document buffer in a RAM 2 is displayed on a display device 12 and a character string can be specified by a cursor. A CPU 1 is provided with an address counter which counts the address located at the specified position by the cursor. When the start point and end point of the character string in the document buffer is specified by the cursor, the addresses of the start point and the end point of the specified area are stored in the RAM 2 as an address management table by plural areas. The character strings of the plural areas to be managed by the address management table are read out from the document buffer and the read character strings of the plural areas are stored in the area buffer in the RAM 2. The edition processing is performed for the character strings of the stored plural areas. |
