A summing bar suspension scale (10) having a platform (12) for supporting objects to be weighed, a frame (16), weighing bars (30, 32), a weighing arm assembly (88), and a pair of summing bar assemblies (102, 104). One (102) of the summing bar assemblies (102, 104) is connected to one of the weighing bar (30) and to the weighing arm assembly (88) and the other summing bar assembly (104) is connected to the other weighing bar (32). Strap assemblies (180, 182) are connected to a platform support assembly (14), the weighing bars (30, 32) and the frame (16) and summing bar strap assemblies (184, 186) are connected to the summing bar assemblies (144, 146) so that the summing bar assemblies (144, 146) are rotated in response to rotation of the weighing bars (30, 32) by an object being disposed on the platform (12).
