One or more video cameras (1) monitor an object (2) and provide input to a PC (4) that has a modem (5) allowing transmission over a telephone link (6) to a further PC (7). The PC can transmit via a converter (14) to a satellite (15) linked to distributed TV receivers. The source PC (4) can connect with a number of modems (17) providing transmission over the telephone lines to a wide range of receivers, e.g. three-dimensional display headgear.
