<p>PURPOSE: To provide an improved process for starting up and shutting down for a membrane system including at least one membrane dryer module and at least one gas separation membrane module. CONSTITUTION: At least a portion of the pressurized gas emerging from the membrane dryer module 9 through a conduit 17 including a valve 31 is transmitted through a conduit 19 including a valve 21 and a conduit 23 and purges the permeate side 13 of the membrane dryer module 9. On the other hand, the remaining pressurized gaseous mixture within the conduit 17 is vented through a conduit 25 including a valve 27. When the pressurized gaseous mixture emerging from the impermeate side 11 of the membrane dryer module 9 attains a desired dew point, the valve 17 for ventilation is closed and the valve 31 is opened, by which the gaseous mixture is transmitted to the gas separation membrane module 29 of one or more.</p> |
