PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal recording with a laser having high sensitivity and a low output and a record of high quality level with small coloring of a skin by providing a thermal layer containing a colorless color developing ingredient, to a colorless color developing ingredient for color developing on reaction with the previous ingredient and a specific infrared absorption dye on a support. CONSTITUTION:This thermal recording material comprises at least substantially colorless color developing ingredient A, a substantially colorless color developing ingredient B for color developing in reaction with the ingredient A and an infrared absorption dye represented by a formula I on a support. In the formula I, R1, R2 are alkyl group which may have a substituent group, and Z1, Z2 are atom groups for completing a benzene ring which may have a substituent group. L is a trivalent group generated by coupling five or seven methine groups by conjugated double bond which may have a substituent group, and p, q are '0' or '1'. Further, X is ions for holding an equilibrium with charge. |
