摘要 PURPOSE:To perform the safety check operation of a line without resting on man power. CONSTITUTION:This detecting system is provided with a self-propelled car(CR) 1 traveling along a railroad R, a positional information acquiring means 4 being installed in this CR and acquiring positional information and two camera means(CM) 10a, 10b being installed in this self-propelled car and getting image information in regarding at least a traveling direction front as a camera visual field. In addition, it is also provided with an information outputting means 6 being installed in the self-propelled car and having speed information and a rail image information plus the image information of a clearance limit to be taken on a travel route as in correspondence to a travel position and simultaneously extracting some information equivalent to the travel position from the positional information to be secured from the positional information acquiring means and outputting it. Moreover, this detecting system is made up of installing a control means 8, traveling and controlling the self-propelled car on the basis of the speed information out of this extracted information and also controlling to stop the travel as soon as receiving obstacle detecting information, and an image processing means 7 which examines whether any obstacle is in the clearance limit or not from the image information out of the camera means, the rail image information out of the information outputting means and the image information of the clearance limit, and when there is the obstacle, outputting obstacle detecting information.
