COOLING FAN CONTROL APPARATUS & METHOD THEREOF

The apparatus includes a temperature sensing unit (10) for sensing the temperature (Tw) of cooling water, a control unit (20) for comparing the temperature (Tw) sensed by the unit (10) with first and second reference temperatures (Rt1, Rt2) to generate first and second cooling fan control signals (V1, V2), a reference temperature memory unit (30) for storing the first and second reference temperatures (Rt1, Rt2) data, and a cooling fan driving unit (40) for driving a cooling fan according to the first and second cooling fan control signals (V1, V2), thereby performing two variable stage control of low speed and high speed to reduce the fan noise.
