Downward movement of lever 23 against spring 36 moves a pawl 25 on the lever over a ratchet wheel shield 8 during which time cutter blade 24 attached to the lever move away from co-operating blade 31, after which the pawl turns the ratchet wheel 11 on drive drum 13 and withdraws tape from roll 5 until the end 20 of the lever abuts a stop 40 on screwed adjusting spindle 41. The tape passes over drive belts 17 in peripheral grooves on drive drum 13 and guide drum 16 and passes between the cutters. On raising of lever 23 by spring 36, the delivered tape is severed as blade 24 rises.</p> |
