PURPOSE:To assure high-quality development and to prolong the service life of a developing device by using a member for regulating the amt. of a developer formed out of a polyurethane rubber compsn. contg. an amine catalyst. CONSTITUTION:This developing device is composed of a developing sleeve 3 mounted at a developing container 2 by providing an electrophotographic photoreceptor with a slight spacing, a urethane elastic blade 4, an elastic roller 5 and toners 6. An elastic blade 4 is pressed to the developing sleeve 3 as the means for regulating the layer thickness of the toners 6 carried and transported by the developing sleeve 3 to a developing section and the toners 6 are passed the contact parts between this elastic blade 4 and the developing sleeve 3 and are controlled to form the thin layer of the toners 6 on the developing sleeve. The amine catalyst 4 is used as the catalyst to form the elastic blade made of the urethane and a hydrolysis preventive agent and an antioxidant are added in combination, at need, to this catalyst. As a result, the degradation in rubber properties is suppressed and the development to maintain high quality over a long period of time is attained. |
