The printing machine has a linear guide (10) for the carrier (12A,12B) that carries the discs to be printed (13) past a printing head (15). The carrier has two disc holders (12A,12B), one following the other in the direction of the linear guide. The movement of the carrier and operation of the print head are controlled by a numerical controller (11). The controller drives a brushless electric motor that moves the carrier between a loading station (54), two printing stations (14) and a drying station (22) between the printing stations. At each station, the controller delivers stop commands corresponding to the distance (D) between the two holders, so each disc is processed in turn.
