Joint securing hollow component to one subject to bending load

The joint secures together a hollow profiled component (1) and one at right angles to it and which is subject to bending loads, particularly the bar of a neck support on a vehicle seat. The bar fits in bores in two opposite walls of the profiled component. Where the bar fits on the profiled component, the distance between the walls of the latter is greater than that at adjacent areas in the same plane. The distance between the two other walls of the component at the joint can be reduced, while the cross-sectional area of the hollow component can be the same at the adjacent areas as that at the joint itself. The hollow component can be plastically shaped at the joint.
