<p>A refuse device includes a cover (22) which can be locked to container (24) by rotation. The cover includes a top portion (26), a collar (32) extending downwardly from the top portion and two opposed, inwardly extending tabs (68, 70) attached to the collar and spaced from the top portion. The container includes an outwardly extending rim (42) attached to the upper edge (44) of the sidewall (36), and an upwardly extending lip (46) attached to the rim. The lip includes two diametrically opposite channels (48, 50) through which the tabs move when the cover is placed on or removed from the container. The lip also includes six grooves (52, 54, 56, 58, 60, 62), four of which flank the first and second channels and two of which are between the first and second channels. Latches (74, 76) rest within the two intermediate grooves when the cover is first placed on the container. They rest in two of the grooves flanking the channels when the cover is locked to the container.</p> |
