PURPOSE:To correct a color with optimum in accordance with the pattern of a picture. CONSTITUTION:A color correction means 100 color-corrects an inputted input chrominance signal in accordance with a parameter which is set, sets it to be an output chrominance signal and outputs it. An output means 101 records the picture on transfer paper based on the inputted output chrominance signal. A parameter calculation means 102 sets an indicated optimized color to be a fixed point and compresses a color reproduction range or calculates the parameter based on the fixed point. An optimized color deciding means 103 decides the color of the central part of the picture or one color in a part whose area in the picture is a maximum as the optimized color in accordance with an indication. An operation means 104 is provided with a switch for selecting a central mode by which the color of the central part of the picture is set to be the optimized color and a maximum mode by which the color of the part whose area is the maximum is set to be the optimized color, and the central mode is usually selected. |
