The recording medium includes a laminate structure (1) comprising a base (2), a recording layer (3) and a sensitiser layer (4). Inrecording data, radiation of an energy beam causes a physical change in the recording layer (3) and forms information bits. The sensitiser layer (4) promotes thermo chemically the physical change in the recording layer. The base (2) is made of transparent plastic or glass, and the recording (3) and sensitiser (4) layers are preferably made of Tellurium oxides (Teox/Teoy), where x is less than y, with the thickness of 300 - 700 Angstrom and 200-1000 Angstrom respectively. |
