Method for reshaping tube end into profile

The method involves reshaping of a tube end into a profile (14), according to which a punch (11) is inserted into the tube end which is then reshaped from outside by a forming tool (12,13). The punch has a cylindrical shape whose cross-sectional area at least approximately equals the area of the inner contour of the resultant profile. The punch (11), in its axial direction may have segments with different cross sections. It is made of a soft incompressible elastic material with low stiffness.
