<p>PURPOSE:To obtain an alumina slag forming agent which is capable of preventing JIS-C inclusions into steel products after production and has an excellent slagging off property by specifying the contents of Al2O3, metal Al, SiO2, TiO2 and CaO. CONSTITUTION:This alumina slag forming agent contains >=0.70wt.% Al2O3, 5 to 15% metal Al, <=8% SiO2, <=0.05% TiO2 and 4 to 10% CaO and is used is slag refining of steel. Pure Al2O3 and pure Al are preferably used in place of aluminum dross and recycled as the material Al in order to decrease the TiO2. The alumina slag forming agent is preferably used by solidifying the slag forming agent to solid having compressive strength of 10 to 50kg/cm<2>. The solidified slag forming agent does not break down during transportation. In addition, the slag forming agent crumbles rapidly and finely and slags off easily when the agent is charged into a furnace.</p> |
