<p>PURPOSE:To prevent scrap from entering molten metal at the time of recovering and separating metal having low m.p. as the molten metal from the mixture of difference kinds of metal scraps by utilizing the difference in the m.p. of the metals. CONSTITUTION:A cylinder 20 is arranged at a gas discharge hole 19 of a rotary kiln 10. At the time of charging, for instance, the mixture of scraps of aluminum and iron into the kiln 10, the aluminum is efficiently melted by direct-firing and flows along the lowermost surface in the kiln 10 and drops from a screen 18. On the other hand, since the heating by a burner 3 is regulated so as not to heat the iron up to a temp. equal to or higher than the m.p. of the iron, the iron is shifted in the kiln 10 and discharged from an outlet 16. At this time, the iron is prevented from entering the gas venting hole 19 with the cylinder 20 and prevented from mixing with the molten metal. If inclining the arranging direction of the cylinder 20 at the time of rotating the kiln 10, the push-out force is given to the iron from the cylinder 20.</p> |
