Method for determining the dry fibre mass of wood, comprises: (i) drilling a hole into a log and using near infra-red (NIR) radiation shielded against light disturbance with a funnel to measure the moisture content; (ii) weighing the transport tool with and without the wood load; and (iii) optimising measurement by adjusting the distance between the measuring unit and the log. |
