<p>PURPOSE:To perform proper decision of deterioration of a catalyst even when a temperature sensor is deteriorated. CONSTITUTION:A catalyst deterioration detecting device comprises a temperature sensor 1 to detect the temperature of the inlet of a catalyst converter installed at the exhaust system of an engine or the temperature of the vicinity thereof; a temperature sensor 2 to detect the temperature of the interior of a catalyst or the outlet temperature of a converter; and a deterioration deciding means 3 to decide deterioration of a catalyst based on output values of the two temperature sensors 1 and 2. Further, the catalyst deterioration detecting device comprises an output difference deciding means 4 to decide an output difference at a given point of time between the two temperature sensors 1 and 2; and a correction means 5 to correct the output value one temperature sensor according to the output difference.</p> |
