<p>PURPOSE:To determine a size of a heat generation dot smaller than a width of a heating resistor. CONSTITUTION:In a thick film thermal printing head formed by providing comb-type unit electrodes 13a, 13b... of a common electrode and a plurality of discrete electrodes 14a, 14b... so that they are laid under a heating resistor 15 linearly extending with a thick film thickness and a predetermined width on an insulating substrate 12, the unit electrodes of the common electrode and the discrete electrodes are arranged so as to face each other at the inner edges thereof in the width direction of the heating resistor. On the other hand, an area of the heating resistor between the top edges of the unit electrodes of the common electrode and the discrete electrodes is lowered in resistance preferably by pulse trimming to form heat generation dots D.</p> |
