OPTICAL FIBER LINE SWITCHING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To provide an inexpensive optical fiber line switching device which has a self-holding function to hold optical fiber lines in the state after switching and has a simple structure and a small size. CONSTITUTION:This optical fiber line switching device 1 is constituted to switch and connect a single fiber 6 to an arbitrary optical fiber among the many optical fibers 7. Plural holding grooves 2a holding one end side of the many optical fibers are formed at the switching device 1. This switching device has a butting member 2 which connects one end of the single fiber to any of the optical fibers within the respective holding grooves, a magnetic material 3 which is deposited on one end side of the single fiber and moving means 5 which moves one side of the single fiber together with this magnetic material at a prescribed pitch in the arranging direction of the plural holding grooves and moves this end in a direction orthogonal with the arranging direction. The moving means 5 has a magnet 51 which is polarized to attract and repel the magnetic material, a feed screw 52 which fixes the magnet and a moving member 53 which freely movable positions the magnetic material in the direction orthogonal with the arranging direction of the plural holding grooves and is moved in the arranging direction of the plural holding grooves by this feed screw.
