PURPOSE:To enable a user to easily recognize the kind of reproduced data by providing a means which discriminates the kind of the reproduced data and displays it in the case where the data of a different kind from a specific kind of data that are originally reproduced from a recording medium are reproduced. CONSTITUTION:This electronic still camera has files of speech data, relation data, personal computer data, etc., recorded in a data area in addition to image data files. At the time of normal reproduction, a black mute screen is reproduced including data in files other than those image data files and unrecorded data parts. For the purpose, a system control 19 as a discriminating means blinks and displays corresponding frame numbers at an on-screen display and LCD display part 17 as a display means so as to indicates that the data other than the image data files are being reproduced. |
